WHY THIS MATTERS?
Uwimana is a 38-year-old mother of four from Burundi. Her family owned a one-acre farm on which they grew beans, but they were unable to grow more than 67 pounds of beans, even in the best weather conditions. Then, they joined FH programming and learned a farming technique using organic manure. Now they harvest nearly a thousand pounds of beans each season, giving them enough to feed their children two meals per day.
This year, manure will be distributed to communties in Burundi.
