Girls as young as 10 years old in Bangladesh are at risk of child marriage, but caring friends like you are equipping dads like Dil to protect their daughters.

“Before knowing the harmful effects of child marriage, we used to think that the sooner a daughter could be married off, the better,” says Dil.

But generous supporters like you are powering workshops to inform and equip girls, boys, parents and leaders. Dil went to one and it completely changed his perspective. He says:

“Through Food for the Hungry, we came to know that child marriage is bad.”

Watch how your love-in-action empowers fathers like him to protect their daughters from child marriage.

Now Dil’s helping other parents see why “girls should study and get the opportunity to build their lives beautifully.”

“After understanding the harmful effects of child marriage, we make others understand as well.

“If any parents try to arrange a child marriage for their daughter, we stop that marriage by explaining to them.

“Now I will not let my daughter be a child bride; I will educate her. I will teach her different technical skills such as sewing and computer training, and she will not get married until she becomes an adult.

“If organizations like Food for the Hungry continue to work like this, people in the area will be completely transformed and, as a result, child marriage will be stopped.”

Thank you for helping girls stay in school and reach for their dreams, safe from child marriage.
